As the Youth Service Director, Dato Tharumah presented on "The Role of a Lawyer" to members of the Interact Club at Han Chiang High School on the afternoon of August 27th.

Rotary Vocational Service is a crucial aspect of Rotary International's service avenues, emphasising the promotion of high ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the value of all useful occupations, and the utilisation of professional expertise to address societal needs.

The core elements of Rotary Vocational Service include:

Upholding High Ethical Standards: Rotarians are urged to maintain and advocate for high ethical standards in their professional endeavors, guided by the principles of the **Four-Way Test**:

  1. - Is it the truth?

  2. - Is it fair to all concerned?

  3. - Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

  4. - Will it be beneficial to all concerned?²

Acknowledgment of All Occupations: Rotary values all beneficial occupations and encourages members to respect the dignity and importance of their own and others' professions¹.

Utilising Professional Skills for Service: Rotarians are encouraged to apply their professional skills and knowledge to serve their communities, such as mentoring young professionals, providing vocational training, or engaging in community service projects³.

Adherence to Ethical Conduct: The **Declaration of Rotarians in Businesses and Professions** outlines the ethical guidelines that Rotarians are expected to adhere to in their professional pursuits².
