The Rotary Club of Penang held its 95th Board Installation Dinner at the historic Eastern & Oriental Hotel, the same venue where the club’s first inauguration dinner took place on 8 October 1939.
The evening was a celebration of fellowship, continuity, and the enduring spirit of service that has defined the Rotary Club of Penang for nearly a century. The dinner was held on 9 August 2025, and drew more than 200 guests, including YB S. Sundarajoo (State EXCO) and the Mayor of Penang, alongside sister clubs from Pandan Valley, Taipei, and Hong Kong Island East.

A Night to Remember
The installation dinner was a vibrant evening that blended tradition with multicultural flair. Guests were welcomed with an energetic drumming and dance performance that showcased Malaysia’s diverse heritage — a symbolic reminder of Rotary’s unity in diversity.
Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed live music and cultural dance performances, adding colour and rhythm to the atmosphere. The formal induction of the new Board was followed by a multicourse Chinese dinner, served in true Penang style, bringing together flavours that reflected the city’s rich culinary heritage.
The fellowship continued late into the night, filled with laughter, conversation, and renewed commitment to service.
