Rotary Club of Penang Empowers Students with Project Bag2School

Penang, 5th January 2024 — The Rotary Club of Penang, in collaboration with SJK(T) Azad, recently organized a heartwarming initiative called Project Bag2School. This community-driven project aims to support underprivileged students by providing essential supplies and promoting eye health.

The event took place at the premises of SJK(T) Azad at 10 a.m. on the specified date. Under the dedicated leadership of Project Lead PE Carson, the Rotary Club distributed 120 bags to deserving students.

But the project didn’t stop there. Recognising the importance of eye health, the Club ensured that every student underwent an eye screening during the ceremony. This proactive approach allowed them to identify potential vision issues early on.

Out of the 120 students, 43 were identified for further tests to determine their specific visual needs. These students will receive personalised prescriptions for spectacles, ensuring that they can see clearly and participate fully in their studies.

The Rotary Club of Penang remains committed to uplifting the educational experience of underprivileged students. Through Project Bag2School, they continue to make a positive impact on young lives, fostering a brighter future for all.
